ENHANCEMENT OF MIGRANTS ABILITIES AND RECOGNITION OF THEIR ACQUIRED COMPETENCES IN EUROPE

Final Conference

The Embrace final conference took place on June 26th 2019 in Turin, Italy at the International Training Centre of the ILO. During the conference the project products and the online toolkit were presented. Key speakers from various organisations - the European Training Foundation, the International Training Centre of the ILO and an international expert about skills and competences certification - presented their policy on impact and effects of European cooperation and shared their activities on taking actions to improve the opportunities and access to the European labour market for migrants, newly arrived in European countries.

 

In addition, a panel discussion about the experiences during the identification and validation process in partner countries was held. Representatives from the focus groups were invited to share their experience from the project and express their ideas how the identification and validation of their skills have helped them to find a job.

 

 

Final meeting



The final partner meeting took place on 24th and 25th June 2019 in Turin, Italy at the premises of the project coordinator Enaip Piemonte. The partners discussed the activities till the end of the project, planned the dissemination of the project outputs and got prepared for holding the final conference on 26th June.

Kick off meeting in Valencia, Spain

 

In December 2016 all partners attended a kick-off meeting and shared experiences from each country in relation to migrant competences and labour integration. They set up short-term tasks and agreed on project activities for the coming months:

  • conducting comparative research and desk analysis in the field of competence recognition at
  • transnationl level.
  • creating a catalogue of the needs, profiles and professional competences in the agrobusiness;
  • conducting case studies in the areas involved in agribusiness
  • Identification of the main profiles demanded in the agribusiness market

5-6 October 2017

 

Embrace project partners gathered in Vejle, Denmark and discussed the main results of the research on methodologies in partner countries, the migrant dynamics and the identification of the main profiles demanded in the agribusiness market. The grounds for developing the catalogue of professional needs were laid.

Partner meeting in Lyon

 

On 24th and 25th of January 2019 Embrace partners held a partner meeting in Lyon, France to share their experiences from the piloting of the methodological guidelines and the toolkit and to discuss  future developments of the online platform and the translations of the materials.

The Professional profiles of the Agri-Food sector: an opportunity for integration of migrants

 

Under this motto the Embrace partners held in March 2018 an international meeting in Tübingen, Germany and invited apprentices, career counsellors, educators, experts, trainees, trainers, refugees and volunteers to discuss and share ideas on labour market integration of migrants and present the first project outcome: The Catalogue of the Needs, Profiles and Professional skills in the agri-food sector.
